'Ponniyin Selvan 2' is now running successfully on the big screens. Amid all the critical acclaim being showered on the film, Chiyaan Vikram's portrayal of heartbroken Aditha Karikalan stands tall. Now, the latest reports suggest that the actor is all set to resume shooting for 'Thangalaan'.

Studio Green, the production house of Thangalaan, took to social media to update that Vikram will resume shooting for the movie today in Chennai. The 'Mahaan' star earlier took a break from the filming for the promotional fiasco ahead of the 'PS-2' release. Now, he is back in Chennai to shoot for Thangalaan. The team has already shot more than 80% of the movie.

We already updated you that Thangalaan will be released on a festival date in 2024. According to sources, director Pa Ranjith is planning to screen the period action drama in prestigious film festivals worldwide before the theatrical release. A couple of more schedules are left before the film is completely wrapped up.

Thangalaan has music by GV Prakash and also stars Pasupathy, Parvathy, Malavika Mohanan, Daniel Caltagirone, Harikrishnan and others in important roles. The film is reportedly based on true incidents of Tamil labourers, who toiled at the Kolar Gold Field and is set in the pre-independence era.
