Happy Birthday Mani Ratnam

Today is the 62nd birthday of veteran director Mani Ratnam.

Mani Ratnam is the most admired Tamil director across India. He has been a pride of Tamil cinema at National level and Indian cinema at international level. H He is a source of inspiration and admiration for every filmmaker and aspiring directors.

Fondly addressed as Mani sir, the soft spoken filmmaker   made his debut with the Kannada film ‘Pallavi Anu Pallavi’. As early as 1983,The he went on to many memorable films in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages. 

Over the past three decades Mani Ratnam's films have entertained and enlightened us on various issues. No other director has managed to be at the top for these many years. His films have become flops in recent years. His latest film 'Kaatru Veliyidai' did not do well at the box office. But that does not reduce his charm. Even today an announcement about his next project will fill the headline columns and be the hot topic of discussion among film buffs especially the youngsters. Till date every actor and technician is eagerly waiting for a call from his office to be a part of his film.
