Did you know? These actors are qualified doctors

Today is National Doctors Day, celebrated in the memory of the legendary physician BC Roy, who was also the Chief Minister of West Bengal and a recipient of the Bharat Ratna.

Marking the occasion, we take you through the list of some well-known actors who are qualified doctors.

Sai Pallavi:

The superstar actress is passionate about medicine. The ‘Fidaa’ and ‘Love Story’ actress is a doctor by qualification. She completed her MBBS in 2016 from the Tbilisi State Medical University, Georgia. She keeps her knowledge updated and whenever she finds some time, she tends to catch up with books related to Medicine. 

Dr. Rajasekhar:

Senior actor Rajasekhar became an angry star in the 1980s and became a household name with super-hits. But he is also a qualified doctor. It has been decades since he became an actor, but the ‘PSV Garuda Vega’ actor still reads up Medical books and journals to keep himself updated.

Shivani Rajasekhar:

The daughter of the Rajasekhar-Jeevitha duo is walking in the footsteps of her dad. The budding actress is still to complete MBBS. And she started working in films when she was in the second year of MBBS. It hasn’t been smooth sailing for her, especially because of the challenge on the academic front in terms of the intimidating syllabus. But Shivani is studying Medicine and doing films with a strong spirit.

Roopa Koduvayur:

‘Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya’ actor Roopa Koduvayur completed her House Surgeon course at the Guntur Katuri Medical College and Hospitals. She has been tending to coronavirus patients. Roopa recently appeared in the special song ‘Daare Leda’, in which she and Satyadev Kancharana played doctors. 

Bharath Reddy:

Bharath Reddy, who has played roles in films like ‘NTR: Mahanayakudu’ and ‘Attarintiki Daredi’, is a practicing doctor. He works at an Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad. A cardiologist, he completed from a state medical university in Armenia. 

Others:

Ajmal Ameer of ‘Rangam’ fame is a qualified doctor. Late actress Soundarya, who was a superstar of 1990s, had enrolled herself into MBBS and quit it after one year. ‘Little Soldiers’ child artist Kavya Annapareddy, who is married now is a doctor.
