Dia Mirza cries, gets trolled badly

Bollywood actress Dia Mirza is in the news for breaking down during a discussion at the Jaipur Literature Festival on Monday.  The actress was engaged in a discussion on climate change.

“Don’t hold back from being an empath. Don’t be afraid of shedding your tears,” Dia said with a tearful of eyes.  “This is not a performance,” she added.  Her crying has reminded many of the globally-renowned Swedish climate change activist Greta Thunberg.

Dia’s “concern” for the environment is not new.  She supported the #SaveAarey campaign last year when a mini forest in Mumbai was to be cut down to make way for a Metro station.

However, Dia’s behaviour has been seen as insincere by her critics.  Tweets out one Nisha, “Has Dia Mirza stopped used Luxury Cars? NO. Is she living without AC’s and Refrigerator? NO. Is she travels in Public Transport? NO. Then why this overacting in the name of the Environment?”

Columnist Sumati Mehrishi, who feels that Bollywood is known for “Planned stupidity”, says, “Brawllywood planned stupidity strain hsokpwoiu8295151. Leather jackets and MUV upholstery don’t soak sob scripts.”
