Velai Illa Pattadhari' was the 25th film of Dhanush as an actor and the film released in 2014 turned out to be a huge blockbuster and propelled the actor's star status to bigger heights. Now the sequel to the film is ready. Dhanush has penned the story and screenplay for the sequel directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth.
Speaking about the sequel in the press meet held in Chennai Dhanush said "'VIP' was a big hit. All the characters in the film including the moped I used in the film became the favorites of both Tamil and Telugu audiences. I did not want to leave those characters with just one film. But getting a story-line for a sequel was very challenging as the first part ended on a happy note. It is during the shooting of 'Kodi' in Pollachi I got the spark and started writing the script for 'VIP 2'. I wish to thank producer Thanu sir without whom this film would not have become a reality. "
Dhanush also revealed that he has plans to make 'VIP 3' and 'VIP 4 and continue the 'VIP' franchise for years.
