Last year, it was announced that Dhanush will make his Hollywood debut in the movie 'The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir', which is based on the novel 'The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe', written by French novelist Romain Puertolas. Marjane Satrapi was set to direct it, but he walked out due to some conflict with the producers.
The good news is Ken Scott the director of Starbuck` and Delivery Man` has joined the project as writer-director and the new cast that is sharing the screenspace with Dhanush will be Laurent Lafitte, Erin Moriarty, Barkhad Abdi, Abel Jafri and Berenice Bejo.
The story is about a fakir (Dhanush) from Rajasthan, who tricks his villagers into sponsoring his flight to Paris where he meets a beautiful girl and falls in love even while trying to con her too. Principal photography will begin in May this year in locations including Mumbai, Paris, Brussels and Rome.
