Dhanush is on cloud nine after his last three movies 'Vada Chennai', 'Asuran' and 'Pattaas' were not only critically acclaimed but made giant killings at the box office as well. While his 'Jagame Thanthiram' directed by Karthik Subbaraj is ready for release after the lockdown ends there is only a few days shooting pending for 'Karnan' a socio-political drama directed by Maari Selvaraj of 'Pariyerum Perumal' fame. Post lockdown the multitalented D as he is fondly called by fans will start shooting 'D43' produced by Sathyajyothi Films and directed by Karthik Naren.

In the end of 2019 Sun Pictures made the announcement that it will be bankrolling Dhanush's 44th movie and several filmmakers were mentioned as possible helmers. Now we have the strong information that the lucky director on board for 'D44' is Mithran Jawahar who has already done three films with Dhanush 'Yaaradi Nee Mohini', 'Kutty' and 'Uttama Puthriran'. Mithran Jawahar is an erstwhile associate of Selvaraghavan and is very close to Dhanush and the combo coming together again has created a buzz in Kollywood. The official announcement is awaited.
