Dhanush, the multi-talented actor, is now directing his second film starring himself along with an ensemble cast. The film produced by Sun Pictures is now tentatively called 'D50'. It was said to be a gangster revenge drama set in the backdrop of North Chennai.

The shooting kicked off in July 2023. Now, the hot news is that Dhanush is all set to wrap up the film with a few days of outdoor shoot after 110 days of non-stop day and night shoots in the sets. As per sources, the team shot a week-long schedule in Karaikudi recently. Reportedly, the film is called 'Raayan' and it is aiming for a Summer 2024 release.

D50 is expected to be a very different film from Dhanush's first directorial 'Power Paandi' which was a feel-good drama. The post-production work for this project will commence very soon. Dhanush will join the shooting of his mega-budget political thriller, D51, with director Sekhar Kammula in January.

D50 stars Dhanush, Nithya Menen, SJ Suryah, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali, Selvaraghavan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Anikha Surendran, and others. Isai Puyal AR Rahman is said to be scoring the music with cinematography by Om Prakash and editing by Prasanna GK.
