The official coronavirus status update today for Tamil Nadu and Chennai show that the shocking trend of high numbers of infections continuing with overall 776 new patients out of which 567 are from the capital city. The total death toll has risen to 94 after 7 people lost their lives over the past twenty-four hours. There are now 13,967 affected by the deadly virus in the state out of which 8795 are in the capital city.

On the positive side 400 have been discharged today raising the total number of recoveries to 6282 which is almost a little below half of the infected count. Zero active cases in Coimbatore, Erode, Namakkal, Thiruvarur, Salem, The Nilgiris and Tiruppur among others for the past on week. 12,464 tests have been conducted today and the total number of tests till date is 372,532.
