As at 8 AM this morning (May 12), India's total number of cases touched 70,756, thereby breaching the 70,000 mark. Total number of active cases are 46,008 in number. The Cured/Discharged number stands at 22,454. Deaths are 2,293 are in number.
As per data, India took 74 days to reach the 10,000 mark. It took just 9 days to reach the 20,000 mark. The country took just 8 days to reach the 30,000 mark. Another 6 days were taken to reach the 40,000 mark. Four days were taken to reach the 50,000 mark. And another 4 days were taken to reach the 60,000 mark. India took just 3 days to reach the 70,000 mark.
Prof. Shamika Ravi says that Maharashtra has 33% of all-India COVID-19 cases. "Active cases in the State are still growing exponentially. It has got relatively few recoveries. Gujarat is seeing growing recoveries, large deaths, and early flattening of Active cases. On the other hand, Tamil Nadu and Delhi are seeing rising Active cases, and recoveries," she writes.
