After the Dutch multinational company DSM today said that an employee working in its office at Hyderabad's Raheja Mindspace had developed symptoms of Coronavirus, authorities pro-actively evacuated building No. 20 in the IT and industrial park at Madhapur.
"The employee self-quarantined, correctly following our company's guidelines and protocols. We are checking in on the colleague and family regularly to make sure everyone is doing fine," a statement from the company reads.
The employees of DSM, as well as other companies in the building, have been evacuated and asked to work from home until further notice.
Out of the 20 buildings in Raheja, two other buildings have seen the evacuation of their employees. It's speculated that others, too, follow suit.
As reported by sections of media, "mild chaos" and "panic" gripped Raheja from 11am onwards on Wednesday.
Social media influencers and celebs such as Akhil Akkineni have appealed for calm. "Just read about the evacuation of Raheja Mindspace building in Hyderabad. Please be careful everyone for your self and others around you. This is really serious now for us. Be safe and be well!" the 'Most Eligible Bachelor' actor said.
