After it was revealed that thousands of people participated in a religious congregation in Delhi’s Nizamuddin from March 13-15, Tamil Nadu health officials have been working on finding everyone who came in contact with the people who attended religious congregation.
The 3 day Tablighi Jamaat conference took place at the Markaz Nizamuddin mosque, and it has been said by the health authorities of Tamil Nadu that close to 1500 people were from Tamil Nadu.
As per reports, there are at least 82 people in Coimbatore with symptoms similar to that of Covid-19 patients and in Erode district 10 of the 30 people who went to the religious congregation tested positive. A 54-year-old Covid-19 patient who died last week was also a participant in the Nizamuddin gathering and 3 of his family members also tested positive. The government has requested people who participated the religious meet to get tested.
