Versatile director Puri Jagannath produced a film called ‘1-4-3’ in his own direction to introduce his brother Sairam Shankar as hero. However, the film failed to prove successful at the expected level.
Later, Sairam Shankar played a role in ‘Danger’ directed by Krishnavamsi. Though Sairam Shankar’s performance got good marks in the film, he failed to get adequate break as the movie was not commercially successful.
Hence, Puri Jagannath chose a Tamil director Raj Kumar, who had directed a hit film like ‘Malai’ in Tamil for the next film with Sairam Shankar as hero and Sheela as heroine.
The film was launched silently and continued its shooting in Shamshabad, Madapur, Lotus Pond and Annapurna Seven Acres. The same director Raj Kumar had remade the successful Telugu film ‘Varsham’ in Tamil and made it a big hit.
It is reliably learnt that ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’ is the title under consideration for Sairam Shankar’s latest film.
