Kamal Haasan to launch a project today

How much ever busy he is, ‘Ulaganayagan’ Kamal Haasan never leaves an opportunity to make his industry friends happy. The veteran who is currently shooting for ‘Papanasam’ the remake of Malayalam super hit film ‘Drishyam’ and also the post production work of ‘Uttama Villain’ and ‘Viswaroopam 2’ will officially launch a film today.

The Padma Bhushan actor will be launching the film ‘Oru Pakka Kathai’ which will be the second directorial of Balaji Tharaneetharan of ‘Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kanom’ fame. A source close to the film says the though Kamal Haasan is not a part of the film he has graciously accepted to launch the film and officially announce the cast and crew of the film in an event to be held in Chennai today (September 1). Interestingly Kamal was there to release the audio of NKPK in 2012. Kamal has been attending a lot of audio launch events recently, but after a long time he will be taking part in a launch event.

‘Oru Pakka Kathai’ will mark the debut of Kalidas, the son of another veteran actor Jayaram, who is also the best friend of Kamal. The director had watched a mimicry performance of Kalidas in a recent award function has impressed Balaji and he has cast the young talent reportedly in the lead role of his next film.
