Sarath Kumar will play the role of Chanakya, the shrewd Indian economist-politician who lived about 2,300 years ago, in a historical film slated to hit the Tamil screen soon.
The film, titled "Chanakya", is to be directed by Venkatesh.
Thespian Manohar had played Chanakya in a famous play several decades ago.
Chanakya has, however, not figured in any Tamil play or film since then, though the Hindi television serial "Chanakya" had a large number of viewers in Tamil Nadu as well.
Viswas Sundar, whose horror film "Athu" is running to packed halls, is producing "Chanakya".
Madhumitha will be one of the two heroines, while the other is yet to be decided upon.
