Earlier today, well-known stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra bumped into noted journalist Arnab Goswami in an Indigo flight. Kamra, who doesn’t like Goswami’s journalism, asked him to give him an interview. As Goswami sat silently, he kept asking him to speak up or be seen as a coward. This has come to be seen as nothing but harassment by many on social media.
BJP MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar said, “Surprised that Indigo allowed this kind of stalking and taunting INSIDE an aircraft in flight. Airlines have an obligation to maintain passenger safety onboard and not allow behaviour of this kind – whatever be the reason or motivation.” One Divya tweeted out, “Shame that they allowed this targeted harassment. This is enough to put this creep on the no-fly list.”
Satirist Onion Bakery wrote, “If Indigo does not make an example of Kunal Kamra by putting him on the No Fly list, then this will become a trend – they will be responsible for endangering the lives of their passengers as well as the crew. If Kamra tried this on any foreign airline, he would never fly again.”
Many have joked about the whole incident. Ramesh Srivats said, “Saw the Arnab – Kunal Kamra video. I think Arnab was quite chilled, perhaps softly humming to himself – “Hum tum, ek Kamra main bandh hain.”
