Chiyaan Vikram’s ‘Thangalaan’ is officially delayed! – New release date announced

Chiyaan Vikram and director Pa Ranjith came together for the much-awaited film, ‘Thangalaan’. After a year of production, the filming was wrapped up a few months ago. The magnum opus project is about the natives set against the backdrop of the Kolar Gold Fields.

The post-production and VFX works are progressing at a brisk phase now. ‘Thangalaan’ was scheduled for a release on January 26th earlier but we informed you that the movie is postponed to a later date due to pending works. On Pongal, the makers took to social media and announced that ‘Thangaalan’ will now hit the screens in Summer 2024.

A new poster featuring Chiyaan’s never-before-seen avatar was unveiled. The team has decided to debut the period action film in international film festivals before the theatrical release. ‘Thangalaan’ is a joint production of Studio Green and Neelam Productions. Due to Thangalaan’s delay, Studio Green’s ‘Kanguva’ starring Suriya is pushed to the latter half of this year.

Thangalaan stars Vikram, Pasupathy, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Daniel Caltagirone, Harikrishnan Anbudurai, Vettai Muthukumar, Anbudan Arjun and others. The film has music composed by GV Prakash Kumar, cinematography handled by A. Kishor Kumar and editing by Selva RK.
