Chiyaan Vikram is currently touring different cities in India to promote the most-awaited 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' with the rest of the cast members. While 'PS-2' is releasing on April 28, the actor's magnum opus 'Thangalaan' is getting closer to the finish line.

Thangalaan directed by Pa Ranjith is also a period drama based on the lives of mine workers in the Kolar Gold Fields. Produced by Studio Green, the makers unveiled a dashing glimpse video of Thangalaan on Chiyaan's birthday which became sensational. The team paused filming as Vikram is busy with the promotional campaign of PS-2.

According to sources, 80% of the shooting is completed. The crew has planned to commence the next schedule of shooting post the Ponniyin Selvan 2 release. An important fight sequence will be filmed between Chiyaan Vikram and Daniel Caltagirone (British actor who plays key role) in the new schedule. This action block is going to be vital in the movie.

Reportedly, the entire production will be wrapped up by June month. The iconic actioner will hit the screens laters this year. Thangalaan also stars Parvathy, Pasupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Harikrishnan and others. The technical team includes GV Prakash as the music composer, Kishor Kumar as the DOP, Selva R K as the editor and S S Murthi as the art director with stunt choreography by Stunner Sam.
