Chennai Police have arrested 26-year-old Kasi on a complaint from a Chennai-based doctor for "blackmailing and resorting to extortion with intimate photos and videos of private moments shared with him" by the victim. The unemployed person had extracted Rs 7 lakh from the unnamed doctor whom he befriended through social media and started an affair that led to physical intimacy.
Shocking details have emerged from the police investigation that Kasi, the son of a well-established chicken farm owner, used fake photos and videos of himself with a gym body and through his gift of talking sweet attracted many local girls.
He would then lure them to a private place and secretly shoot videos and photos and then use it to blackmail the girls into silence. To extract money, he got in touch with several women from Chennai and also in North India and made blackmail a business to earn lakhs of money.
The police have confiscated laptops, pen drives, hard disks, cameras, and other equipment from his house.
Playback singer Chinmayi, an active advocate for the Me Too movement in South India, has shared the shocking news that several women had approached her on Instagram regarding Kasi and that she had made complaints regarding the same. "So many women on Instagram and I remember raising complaints about this guy. Finally, this man is in jail," the singer wrote on Twitter.
