After Chinmayi's bold allegations of sexual assault by Vairamuthu there have been polarized reactions from the social media users. The question on most people's minds is why Chinmayi invited Vairamuthu to he wedding and behaved in a very cordial way to him and even reverentially fell on his feet to seek his blessings.

Chinmayi has released a video in which she explains everything about her new movement which has kickstarted the Me Too and Time is Up in South India. She has explained the incidents that happened in Switzerland when the organizers allegedly asked her to cooperate with the lyricist in his room and she and her mother refused and fought their way back to India. She also stands by her claim of Vairamuthu groping her in his office when she went to recieve her payments.

Chinmayi makes it clear that in 2004 she was a teenager and could not go to the media as Vairamuthu is a powerful man praised by Kalaigniar Karunanidhi, Rajini, Kamal and Vaali. She says only in the past four years society is ready to listen to women and she has found her moment to expose the truth. Chinmayi claims that there are many women behind her and the movement will continue until a safe society comes into existence.
