Tamil film actor Cheenu Mohan passes away

Film and television actor Cheenu Mohan who appeared in several Tamil movies, including Rajini’s Thalapathi, passed away this morning.

The actor began his career in the late 1980s playing small roles in Varsham Padhinaru (1989), Anjali (1990), and Thalapathi (1990). Later, he went on to portray the lead role in plays directed by Crazy Mohan and Maadhu Balaji. He became famous for his role in Crazy Mohan's play as the character Cheenu, following which he came to be known as Cheenu Mohan. He made a comeback in movies with Karthik Subbaraj’s Iraivi and played cameos in the critically acclaimed films Kolamavu Kokila, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, and Vada Chennai.

Cheenu Mohan’s family informed media that he had died of a cardiac arrest this morning. Several Kollywood actors have come together to pay respect to the late actor.
