Veteran Tollywood artist Chalapathi Rao, who passed away on Sunday, was today laid to rest in Hyderabad. His son, actor-director Ravi Babu, waited for the return of Chalapathi Rao's daughters from abroad for three days. After their arrival, Rao's funeral rites were held.
'Chadarangam' on ZEE5 was Rao's one of the last acting assignments. He was also seen in a role in Nagarjuna's 2022 release 'Bangarraju'. 'Jai Lava Kusa', 'Vinaya Vidheya Rama', 'Ruler', 'Johaar', among others, were also done by Rao in his last leg of career.
As per Ravi Babu, Rao had a painless and sudden death.
Several film and political personalities paid their rich tributes to Rao via social media. Among them are Megastar Chiranjeevi, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Pawan Kalyan, Jr NTR, Ram Charan and many more. The Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, too, joined the Telugu people in mourning Rao's demise. Rao acted in more than 700 films in his decades-long career.
