Thalpathy Vijay’s ‘Mersal’ has set ablaze the national media with one of it dialogues criticizing the GST. Thought the dialogue has received appreciation from most parts, senior leaders of the BJP has been condemning the film’s bold take on the issue.

Yesterday, BJP’s National Secretary H.Raja vehemently told that the members of the censor board who passed the film must be removed from their posts. In response the CBFC has come back with an apt reply that there was no foul in the film’s dialogues with reference to GST, and asking the scenes to be lifted off the film is a direct threat to freedom of speech.
