Thalapathy Vijay's new movie 'Beast' is progressing at a brisk rate ever since shooting resumed a month back. In between, there were surprising updates and the big one is director Selvaraghavan getting on board to play the chief antagonist.

More details have emerged that his character is designed in such a way that he is not going to be in direct confrontations with Vijay but torment him from far away. It is said that Selva after his debut movie 'Saani Kaayidham' was not very keen on acting in other films. He wanted to put in his full focus on his next movies with Dhanush that includes 'Aayirathil Oruvan 2' planned on a huge budget.

The sources add that while Nelson Dilipkumar convinced the ace director with the characterization that he designed for him, Sun Pictures offered him the cool salary of rupees two crores.

'Beast' has music by Anirudh and the cast comprises of Vijay, Pooja Hegde, Yogi Babu, Shine Tom Chacko, VTV Ganesh, Aparna Das and others. The team will move on to Russia for the next schedule and release is planned for Pongal 2022.
