BCCI just announced the league matches schedule of the renowned T20 league, IPL 2023 officially. The 16th IPL season starts on March 31. On the opening night, the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings will lock horns with the defending champs Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad.
The 70 league games will go on till May 21 and the playoff schedules are yet to be unveiled. In the league phase, all ten franchises will play seven home and seven away matches and the matches will be held at twelve venues in total. The evening matches will start at 7:30 pm IST while the afternoon matches will begin at 3:30 pm IST.
Notably, the first home match for CSK is scheduled on April 3 against the Lucknow Super Giants. The team including the skipper MS Dhoni will be returning to the Chepauk stadium after 2019. Also, the 1000th match in IPL history is going to be the first match between the rivals CSK and Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023 on April 8.
The teams have been divided into two groups. Group A: Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants. Group B: Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans. Meanwhile, the first Women's IPL is scheduled to happen between March 4 and March 26.
