Balakrishna’s leaked still from NBK107 reminds us of Shiva Rajkumar

‘Mufti’, the Kannada movie starring Shiva Rajkumar, was a neo-noir action film that hit the screens in 2017. In one of the scenes in the movie, the lead man is seen sitting in an open place. An SUV is seen in the backdrop. The hero is seen wearing a black shirt and a lungi. 

Now, a leaked still from the sets of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 107th movie looks almost similar. Balakrishna’s style and the backdrop bears an uncanny resemblance with the ‘Mufti’ shot. 

This has set off the speculation that the Gopichand Malineni directorial may be a remake of ‘Mufti’. If not a remake, it may be an adaptation or a partial remake, with only some elements retained. ‘Krack’, the director’s previous outing, had some elements/plot points from a Vijay Sethupathi-starrer. 

The untitled movie, starring Shruti Haasan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Duniya Vijay, has gone on the floors in Siricilla, Telangana. Action blocks under the aegis of the Ram-Laxman duo are being shot currently.
