T. Santhanam, who shot to fame as the art director of the cult classic 2010 film ‘Ayirathil Oruvan’ directed by Selvaraghavan, has passed away. He was in his early 50s and reportedly died of a heart attack.
Santhanam has also worked in several other big projects including Vijay’s ‘Sarkar’ and Rajinikanth’s ‘Durbar’. He has been hailed for bringing the contemporary time period and ancient historical era life authentically to the audiences through his production design in ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ which was the first such film after several decades.
Santhanam’s upcoming movies include another period film ‘1947 August 16’ produced by A.R. Murugadoss and starring Gautham Karthik and Pugazh. RIP!
