The Indian film industry is in shock as news has come that famous Bollywood art director Nitin Desai, winner of 4 National Awards was found dead at his studio in Karjat in Maharashtra. He was 58 and intiial reports suggest that he died by suicide at his 60 acre studio by hanging himself for reasons unknown.
Nitin Chandrakant Desai has worked as an art director for many big films including Aamir Khan's 'Lagaan', Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Madhuri Dixit's 'Devadas' Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai's 'Jodha Akbar' and also did the set work for the Oscar winning 'Slumdog Millionaire'.
Desai won the National Award for Best Art Direction for the Mammootty starrer 'Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar' released in 1999 and later for 'Hum Dil De Chukhey Sanam', 'Lagaan' and 'Devadas'. Bollywood celebrities are mourning his death on social media. RIP!
