Terminator star and former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger and journalist Maria Shriver have officially finalized their divorce over ten years after announcing their separation.
Maria Shriver, who married Schwarzenegger in 1986, filed for divorce on July 1, 2011, after Arnold admitted to having an affair with their housekeeper, with whom he has a child, son Joseph Baena. The actor and Shriver share four kids together - Katherine, 32, Christina, 30, Patrick 28, and Christopher, 24.
While talking about his split from Maria Shriver, Arnold had previously stated on The Howard Stern show, “It’s a very tough situation for him. It’s a very tough situation for my kids. Very tough situation for my family. It was tough for everybody. But it has happened and now we have to figure it out, right?”
He had further added, “This was without a doubt the biggest setback and the biggest failure [in my life]. Not only failure, but you really feel like, ‘I’m to blame for it. It was me that screwed up,’ and you can’t point the finger at anyone else.” Reports have claimed that the couple will likely split their estimated $400 million fortune down the middle.
