The past one week has tasted all news but rich red meat, owing to the centre's order calling for ban on cow slaughter. As is the tradition with every disputing opinion, people have headed straight to social media with democracy in their hands, lashing the centre's verdict. Celebrities have also started expressing their contempt with the ruling, and have spread their thoughts across the internet.
Successive to Kolly celebs like Kasturi and Siddharth, Aravind Swamy has joined the band wagon, when he took to his social network, expressing that this ban cannot be accepted. However, his point of view is slightly different from others'. Aravind Swamy is fighting the verdict on the claim that the energy and swiftness invested in removing beef from the menu, might as well be directed to putting food on the platter of those that are malnourished. He put forth the stats that India ranks 67th among the 80 countries of the world's most malnourished kids. If such kids could be fed instead with the same zeal, as the ban on cow slaughter, then it would do good to everyone, for that is what every religion preaches; it is of higher importance to put food on the plate, than take some away, his post infers.
