Anushka Shetty’s much-awaited film Ghaati, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, has completed its censor formalities and received a U/A certificate. With a runtime locked at 2 hours and 37 minutes, the film has reportedly impressed the censor board with its scale, emotional depth, and powerhouse performances, adding to the excitement surrounding its release.
The story revolves around Anushka’s character Sheelavathi, a woman whose transformation from victim to criminal to legend forms the heart of the narrative. The first half is said to be packed with adrenaline, featuring a high-octane railway station sequence, a nail-biting cave fight, and a blockbuster interval episode. The second half carries the emotional weight, showcasing Sheelavathi’s evolution in a way that promises a goosebump-inducing cinematic experience.
Action choreography by Ram Krishnan has already drawn attention, with stunts shot across the untouched terrains of Odisha. Performed without body doubles, the raw and grounded sequences add a visceral authenticity to the film. The climax is described as both high-voltage and emotionally shattering, leaving a lasting impact on audiences.
The film also introduces Vikram Prabhu to Telugu cinema, the grandson of legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan and son of actor Prabhu. His performance, marked by quiet strength and emotional intensity, is further elevated by his decision to dub for himself. His chemistry with Anushka and expressive screen presence are being highlighted as major strengths.
Dialogues written by Sai Madhav Burra and Chinthakindi Srinivasa Rao are being appreciated for their poetic resonance and mass appeal. Cinematographer Manojh Reddy Katasani captures the rugged beauty of Odisha in sweeping frames, while composer Sagar Nagavelli’s soundtrack adds both intensity and soul to the narrative.
According to censor buzz, Ghaati will leave viewers with Sheelavathi etched in their hearts. With a mix of emotionally charged storytelling, raw action, and career-defining performances, the film is being hailed as one of the most unmissable theatrical experiences of the year.
