Anushka to replace Nayanthara in biggie?

It’s a known fact that director Maniratnam is currently set to start works on his magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan, post the massive success of the Multi-starrer movie Chekka Chivantha Vaanam which was released last year.

Ponniyin Selvan is the film version of Kalki Krishnamurthy’s classic novel of the same name and is said to feature an ensemble cast including Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Amitabh Bachchan, Keerthy Suresh, Aishwarya Rai and Sathyaraj.

While there were reports earlier that lady superstar Nayanthara might be roped in to play the vital role Poonguzhali in the magnum opus, now there are speculations that Anushka Shetty might replace Nayanthara in the movie. It must be noted that when Maniratnam had planned before few years to make Ponniyin Selvan, Anushka was a part of the planned cast.
