Anukreethy Vas is the new kid on the bloc. The Miss India title winner is all of 19 and hails from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. A vivacious college student, she has been crowned Femina Miss India 2018 on Tuesday in an event held in Mumbai. The grand affair was hosted by Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Ayushmann Khurrana.
The winner successfully trumped 30 contestants with ease. Anukreethy had been a holder of the fbb Colours Femina Miss Tamil Nadu title.
Interestingly, the second runner-up is our own Telugu girl. Shreya Rao Kamavarapu is her name. The first runner-up is Meenakshi Chaudhary from Haryana.
What next for the winners and the two runners-up?
Anukreethy will represent the country at Miss World 2018. As for the Haryana girl, she will represent India at Miss Grand International 2018. Shreya Rao will represent India at Miss United Continents 2018.
Who were the judges? They included personalities from a range of fields. Even cricketers Irfan Pathan and KL Rahul and seasoned ex-models like Malaika Arora were in the panel. Bobby Deol and Kunal Kapoor too were members.
