The suicide of Medical aspirant Anita has sparked a huge outrage in Tamil Nadu. The Ruling AIADMK had offered a solatium of Rs.7 lakhs and a government job to a family member of Anita as she committed suicide for not being able to get a medical seat due to the sudden implementation of NEET according to the Supreme Court order.
It is worth noting that Anita belongs to a poor family and a socially oppressed community. Her father is a daily wage labourer while her mother is not alive. Even at this stage Anita's father has refused to get the solatium offered by the Government.
Anita's father and her four elder brothers refused to get the cheque of Rs.7 lakhs from the district collector who visited their home on Sunday to hand over the cheque. They have said that they will not receive the Government support until Tamil Nadu state is exempted from NEET.
