Anasuya Bharadwaj has hit out at Kota Srinivasa Rao for recently commenting on her proclivity to wear "short clothes" on the popular TV comedy show 'Jabardasth'. In an interview, Kota said that she doesn't like that a talented actress like Anasuya wears short clothes.
"It overwhelms me that my choice of dressing is a matter of concern to this extent. Someone of such experience has made lowly remarks. What one wears is personal or professional choice," Anasuya said, adding that social media is busy highlighting such unproductive content.
The 'Rangasthalam' actor suggested that Kota has, in films, glorified drinking alcohol (referring to 'Gabbar Singh'), wearing shabby clothes, and shamed women on screen.
She also asked why nobody questions male stars who are married and have kids romance actresses on screen and show off their bare body without wearing a shirt. "Is it intimidatory if a married woman like me questions your patriarchal norms?" she asked.
"They slut-shame women to cover their himbo thoughts.. I want to believe today’s men are much more logical and brave and sensible and righteous .. please prove me right," the 'Kshanam' actress added in another tweet.
..(2/2) not fuelling their male chauvinism.. they imposed/impose these mindless dress codes on women.. they slut shame women to cover their himbo thoughts.. I want to believe today’s men are much more logical and brave and sensible and righteous .. please prove me right ????
