Main terrorist behind Pulwama attack killed

Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist Sajjad Maqbool, who was one of the key conspirators in the Pulwama attack that took the lives of over 40 CRPF jawans, has been killed by Indian security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district today.
Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist Sajjad Maqbool Bhat alias Afzal Guru alias Hafiz was killed along with another terrorist Tauseef in the Bijbehara area of Anantnag district in South Kashmir. Maqbool’s explosive-laden car was the one that was rammed into the CRPF convoy on February 14, killing over 40 personnel. A jawan was also killed in the encounter that broke out earlier today. “On a credible input, a cordon and search operation was launched jointly by the security forces at Marhama in Bijbehara area of District Anantnag. A search operation was going on, hiding terrorists fired on the search party. The fire was retaliated. One Army Jawan Anil Jaiswal sustained gunshot injuries and attained martyrdom at the hospital. Two terrorists were killed; their bodies were retrieved. Terrorists have been identified as Sajjad Maqbool Bha and Tasseef of Jaish-e-Mohammed,” J&K’s police stated.
Following the Pulwama terror attack, the IAF crossed the LoC and launched a 1000 kg bomb on the biggest Jaish-e-Mohammed camp in Balakot on February 26.
