Ammu (Aishwarya Lekshmi), a naive, simple and soft-spoken woman, gets married to Ravi (Naveen Chandra), probably her long-time neighbour. Soon after their marriage, Ravi turns out to be a toxic male with a proclivity to abuse and harass his wife. Ammu is at the receiving end of indifference. If her husband gets whimsical and violent at times, her mother is not entirely ready to be sensitive to her state of mind. The setting is familiar but the sensitivities and treatment are entirely different.
One fine day, when push comes to shove, Ammu decides to hit back. Ravi, who is a cop by profession, faces a series of setbacks, probably due to his wife’s machinations. There comes a point when even a baddie, played by Bobby Simha, mocks Ravi.
The drama-thriller will stream on Amazon Prime from October 19 in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Directed by Charukesh Sekar and produced by Karthik Subbaraj, ‘Ammu’ is expected to be one of the best web films.
