Producers Swathi Reddy Gunupati and Suresh Varma say that ‘Mangalavaaram’ was destined to happen at a time when dark thrillers with unpredictability have become fashionable. Allu Arjun, Swathi’s long-time friend, too felt the same and gave her the green signal to go ahead with the script written by Ajay Bhupathi, the ‘RX 100’ director. That boosted her confidence.
“Personally, I prefer comedies and entertainers more than thrillers. However, after listening to Ajay Bhupathi’s narration, I couldn’t resist wanting to produce this. I liked the way the message was conveyed. It has music, emotions, message and other elements,” says Swathi Reddy, who is the daughter of noted industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad.
The film’s emotional range and array of twists are going to be its raison d’etre, the producers said. “The final 45-minute segment is really wow,” they said.
Two A’s have powered the film with their imagination: Ajay Bhupathi and Ajaneesh Loknath, the director and ‘Kantara’ fame composer, respectively. “The music is awesome. As for Bhupathi, he has been a pillar of support, handling everything. His economic sense and sensible thinking are something,” Suresh Varma says.
Egged on by distributors and exhibitors, the makers are planning multiple paid premiere shows on the evening of November 16.
