Producer Tammareddy Bharadwaj has said that ‘Palasa 1978’ is a film made for Dalits and that they should encourage the well-meaning movie without fail.
“Our movie has got very good ratings from film critics. It has opened well at the box-office. It’s saddening that there is no encouragement from Dalits themselves. The film talks about their oppression. We have made it for their betterment. I am not saying that ‘Palasa 1978’ seeks to demean any community. All that I want to iterate is that Dalits have to watch the film in theatres because it has been made for them,” Tammareddy said.
Directed by Karuna Kumar, the social-crime drama hit the screens this Friday.
