Tamil superstar Ajith has got a scientific bent of mind. It is known that the versatile actor recently mentored a team by name Daksha of IIT Madras to design a UAV. This team won the second place in an Australian UAV challenge and was used to deliver medicines by air to places where it is not possible for humans to do.
A few weeks back the drones designed by Daksha were used by the Tamil Nadu government to disinfect many parts of the city. Now a high capacity drone by the same team has been designed which has the capacity of carrying 16 litres of disinfectants and can cover one acre in 30 minutes.
Dr. Karthik Narayanan on Wednesday said that the idea to use drones for disinfection was Ajith’s. He also stated that now all the other district collectors too have been instructed to make use of the technology.
In March, the ‘Vivegam’ star was one of the first celebrities to donate Rs 1.30 Cr to the Tamil Nadu and Indian government and FEFSI coronavirus relief funds.
