Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya goes to B-wood!

Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya is one of the sleeper hits of 2019 in Tollywood. The comic thriller, starring Naveen Polishetty, not only won acclaim for the lead actor’s performance, but also for its gripping writing.

Now the Swaroop R.S.J. directorial is set to be remade in Bollywood. We have reliably learnt Northern Lights Entertainment, which co-produced Adity Roy Kapoor-starrer Malang, is remaking the film in Hindi.

The Hindi production house saw the film and was impressed with the writing and narration of the comic thriller. They believed that the plotline had the potential to be a winner at the Bollywood box office too, and had bagged the Hindi remake rights of the film. However, Northern Lights Entertainment hasn’t decided on who to cast in the Hindi version.

Apparently, the production house wants to tweak the script a wee bit to suit the sensibilities of the Hindi audience. Moreover, with the plotline being universal, the producers believe that minimal effort with regards to changes in the script would make the script comprehensive.

A source informs, “The pre-production work for the Hindi remake has just begun. The team is working on tweaking the story and screenplay. Once they lock the script, the production house would then proceed to casting. They wanted to cast a star hero to give the film a bigger appeal, although it is premature to comment at this stage. The remake version is likely to go on floors next year.”
