‘Thai Kizhavi’ Arriving in Theaters on February 27: Trailer Skyrockets Expectations!

Veteran actress Raadhika Sarathkumar, known for portraying numerous challenging roles in Tamil cinema, is now playing the lead character in the upcoming film ‘Thai Kizhavi’. Directed by debutant Sivakumar Murugesan and produced by actor Sivakarthikeyan, the film’s trailer was released today and is currently viral on the internet.

Set against the backdrop of Kadupatti village near Usilampatti, the film features Raadhika as a 75-year-old woman named ‘Pavunuthayi.’ She delivers a commanding performance as a brave yet humorous village matriarch who keeps the entire village on its toes. The political dialogues and the depiction of internal family conflicts featured in the trailer have created significant buzz among fans. Raadhika’s prosthetic makeup for the 75-year-old character and her realistic acting appear to be the film’s biggest strengths.

Produced by Sivakarthikeyan Productions in association with Passion Studios, the film features an ensemble star cast.Direction Sivakumar Murugesan, Production Sivakarthikeyan,Music Nivas K. With the help of Malayalam makeup artist Vineesh, the look for ‘Thai Kizhavi’ was finalized after researching the appearances of nearly 100 elderly women. Director Bharathiraja himself was reportedly moved by Raadhika’s dedication and praised her performance.

Originally scheduled for February 20, the film is now set to hit theaters on February 27, 2026, following a minor schedule change. It is expected to be a humorous family drama rooted in rural culture.
