It was In the film 'Rickshaw Mama,' directed by P. Vasu and starring Sathyaraj, Khushbu, and Gauthami that Sridevi Vijayakumar made her acting debut as a child artiste. Later in her career, as a grown-up the actress appeared in a number of noteworthy films that include 'Kadhal Virus', 'Priyamana Thozhi' and 'Thithikudhe'.

In 'Devathaiyai Kanden,' directed by Boopathy Pandian, Sridevi was cast opposite Dhanush, which was a success at the box office and was also appreciated by critics. The pretty actress then got married to businessman Rahul and stayed away from films after her daughter Rupika was born.

Sridevi has shared an adorable photo of herself and Rupika wearing similar pink dresses and she has written an endearing note to her "She is my heart, my soul, my best thing that ever happened to me, the source of many laughs and a few tears. she is my daughter and she is my world".
