The Makkal Needhi Maiam leader Kamal Haasan after a tough fight lost his first elections getting around 1500 votes less than his BJP opponent Vanathi Srinivasan. His party too fared poorly all over the state.

Fans of the legendary actor have however shown tremendous support to him on social media lauding him for his hard work in the political arena and expressed hope that he would make a strong comeback in 2026.

Kamal Haasan's multitalented elder daughter Shruti Haasan shared a photo of her father on Instagram Stories and has captioned it emotionally "Always so proud of my Appa," adding the hashtags #Terminator and #TheFighter.

Shruti Haasan has two major upcoming films as the leading lady in Tamil and Telugu namely Vijay Sethupathi's 'Laabam' and Prabhas's 'Salaar' directed by Prashanth Neel of 'KGF' fame.
