Actress sexual assault complaint – Famous director summoned to police station

Ever since the Me Too movement gained credence in 2018 may women especially from the film industry have been relating their horrifying sexual assault experiences.  Some also take advantage of it to take personal revenge on men and social activists are of the opinion that both sides should be heard fairly and the wrongdoer is punished.  

Actress Payal Ghosh who has acted in a few Telugu and Tamil films accused critically acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap of forcing himself on her during a meeting in 2014 to 15 at his apartment.  She claimed that she had gone to seek work in one of his films when he misbehaved first by playing porn movies and then getting physical.

Ghosh filed a police complaint and demanded enquiry by tagging the Prime Minister and other authorities on Twitter.  Anurag Kashyap had strongly denied it and many including actress Tapsee Pannu and his ex-wives Aarti Bajaj and Kaki Koechlin have come in support of him stating that he had never misbehaved with any woman and is one of the safest people to work with.

Now the Mumbai Police has reportedly sent a summons to Anurag Kashyap asking him to appear at Versova Police station tomorrow October 1st at 11 am,  The director is popular among Tamil audiences as an actor too after playing the chief antagonist against Nayanthara in the super hit film ‘Imaikka Nodigal’ directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu.
