“People should select the next ADMK Cheif” says Popular Tamil actress

The AIADMK party is gearing up for its first General Council Meeting post the death of their iconic supremo J.Jayalalitha. In the meeting scheduled to happen tomorrow(December 29) at the party headquarters in Chennai, V.K.Sasikala is expected to be elected as the General Secretary of Tamil Nadu's ruling party.

Though many ministers, MLAs and MPs of the party have requested Sasikala to take over the Supreme post, there are some sections opposing Sasikala's nomination for the post which was held by the charismatic leader Jayalalitha.

Earlier today actor Anandraj who has been a member for the past 12 years has walked out of the party after voicing his opposition against elevating Sasikala for the post vacated by the death of 'Amma'.

Now yesteryear heroine Latha who has acted in many films with the party's founder M.G.Ramachandran has said that the next General Secretary should be the one selected the people.

"My Guru Puratchithalaivar MGR, the founder of AIADMK always gave prominence to the people's verdict. Based on that, the next General Secretary should be the one acceptable to the entire party cadres and the general public. The main office-bearers of the party should ensure that such a person takes over the post. And the person selected for the post should also give an undertaking to serve the public based on the guidelines of MGR and Puratchithalaivi J.Jayalalitha's way of administration."
