Actress Jyothika has been quite occupied with her Bollywood projects lately. As we already know, she had relocated to Mumbai along with her husband Suriya and their children for the same reason. However, Jyothika is now back in Chennai to promote her new Hindi film, 'Srikanth', which also stars Rajkumar Rao. The film is a biopic based on the life of Srikanth Bolla, an Indian industrialist who is visually impaired.
While interacting with the media during the promotional event, Jyothika gave clear answers to some questions about elections and politics. A reporter asked why she hadn't voted in the recent Lok Sabha elections. The actress answered, "Every time, we do vote. Sometimes, you can be outstation on some work. You can be sick. Sometimes, we vote in private. There is a private side to life. I think we also have to respect that and keep that space."
Then, Jyothika was asked if she had plans to enter politics. She replied, "I have no plans in that regard for now. My two kids are studying. I have to take care of them. I am also working on my fitness. So, slowly, one step at a time, but politics - no, no chance." This news is now doing rounds on the internet. Jo plays Rajkumar Rao's teacher in 'Srikanth'. The film, directed by Tushar Hiranandani, is scheduled to hit the cinemas on May 10th.
