Violating the ongoing lockdown, a group of 40 devouts today gathered at a Masjid in Madhya Pradesh’s Chaurai village in Chhindwara district. The sarpanch of a village, too, was one of them. They have been booked under various Acts and IPC.
As reported by ANI, the Chaurai police station in-charge said that they were found offering prayers in the mosque by violating Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code. “A case was registered under the Epidemic Act, Disaster Management Act and other Acts,” he added.
As per PTI, they have also been charged under Section 188 (disobedience to order promulgated by a public servant) and Section 269 (unlawful or negligent act likely to spread infection of a dangerous disease) of the IPC as well.
