26 people killed in Pakistan

Torrential downpour in the  Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province and the Dir district of Pakistan killed at least 26 people following flash floods and the collapse of a roof in the respective regions.

Three separate incidents of roof collapse in central Pakistan led to the deaths of nine people, while four people died in the city of Multan. Flash floods submerged villages near the southwestern town of Lasbella, where emergency workers are involved in a rescue operation.

The monsoon floods in Pakistan every year as a result of poor planning leads to such disasters, a spokesperson for the provincial disaster authority said.
