ZEE5 announces a new Original titled ‘Maya Bazar’

ZEE5 has been relentlessly dishing out a wide variety of content in various formats in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarathi, Bengali and other languages. ZEE5 has made a name for itself nationwide as a prominent streaming platform since its inception. The streaming giant has been streaming ‘Roudram Ranam Rudhiram’ to a blockbuster response. On the web series front, ZEE5 has been spectacular. After presenting the comedy-drama ‘Oka Chinna Family Story’ from Pink Elephant Pictures, ‘Loser 2’ from Annapurna Studios stable, ‘Gaalivaana’ from BBC Studios and NorthStar Entertainment, it most recently came out with ‘Recce’, ‘Maa Neella Tank’, ‘Paper Rocket’, and ‘Hello World’.

Its latest Original to be announced is ‘Maya Bazar: A Paradise On Earth’. Produced by Rana Daggubati, this Original marks the first collaboration between the versatile actor and ZEE5. VK Naresh, Jhansi, Eesha Rebba and Ravi Varma, among others, are playing important roles in this one.

Talking about the premise of the Original, director Gautami Challagulla says that the story unfolds in the backdrop of a gated community on whose inaugural day a celeb, who is its brand ambassador, dies suspiciously. “Owning a villa in a gated community is promoted as a sign of one’s social and financial prosperity. No wonder couples – young and newly married, old and retired ones and those from different social backgrounds – buy villas in our cities with great enthusiasm. In our story, a villa is eagerly bought at Maya Bazaar on the promise of heavenly bliss. However, the high expectations of the buyers turn upside down when the community’s brand ambassador – a celebrity actor Abhijeet – falls dead from the terrace of the clubhouse on the inauguration day. On the same day, the residents also come to know that the entire property is illegal, thanks to the builder Mr. Gandhi, who bypassed all rules and approvals.
